Industrial friction stir welding is not only for aluminium materials
With its many years of practical experience, the company represents an established and reliable partner for firms that process light metals. They will benefit from the considerably higher quality and resilience of the weld joint, as well as excellent reproducibility, in comparison with traditional welding techniques. Readiness for the start of production of the procedure has been proven by the independent provider flexibly, and in answer to customer requirements, for many years, not only for aluminium components but also for mixed compounds. Aluminium and stainless steel have already been bonded with one another for entrance screens in X-ray image intensifiers – firmly bonded, non-porous, flawless and highly vacuum-tight. A particular focus of customer interest at the moment is “e-mobility”. Friction stir welding has proven to be an eminently suitable procedure here, to close off cooling ducts reliably and durably to make them media-impermeable.

RIFTEC at the DVS Expo
A wealth of expert knowledge, prestigious professional conferences and research colloquia, worldwide contacts and a comprehensive range of products and services – this is all represented at the DVS Congress and the DVS Expo 2011, which is taking place as part of it for the first time.
RIFTEC will also be attending this premiere: from 27th to 29th September we are presenting our friction stir welding series products to an informed audience at the premises of the Congress Center Hamburg. The sectors in which the high-quality joints are used include the airline industry, food technology, medical technology and automotive manufacturing.
Besides pure aluminium bonds, you will also be impressed by the weld quality of mixed compound, for example, aluminium and stainless steel – or indeed aluminium-copper welds. Visit us at the DVS Expo and be astounded by the variety of application options for friction stir welding.
