RIFTEC bonds – aluminium and copper too

Besides the friction stir welding of aluminium joints, mixed compounds made of aluminium and stainless steel have long been part of RIFTEC’s standard range. However for some time now, this procedure that produces high-quality seams has no longer been limited to these two categories of material only. Special mixed compounds made of aluminium and copper are emerging strongly. They are particularly in demand where leading components made of both metals, which have low transfer resistance, have to be brought together, for example in power electronics or battery technology.
Friction stir welding ably demonstrates its advantages for such aluminium-copper bonds, as the parts to be joined are not fused but firmly bonded and flawless seams are produced. The highest seam quality and good mechanical strength are therefore guaranteed.
RIFTEC has already manufactured a variety of prototypes and pre-production series components from aluminium-copper bonds – and can customise the process to your application very quickly. We will be pleased to advise you.
