Friction stir welding always comes into its own where the call is for seam qualities of a particularly high standard. To ensure that it can consistently and reliably guarantee quality of this level, even with complicated component geometries and the widest variety of materials, RIFTEC relies on the use of modern testing technology directly on our premises.

With a newly-acquired, high-precision 3D co-ordinate measuring machine and our own metallography lab, we are able to assess the dimensional accuracy of welded components and the quality of welded seams directly in-house. This significantly cuts product-travel distances – and the required proof of quality is to hand at an earlier stage.
