Friction stir welding for individual needs

It’s a challenge for your development team, and our know-how helps provide the solution: When it comes to difficulties in joining aluminium in existing or new products, the RIFTEC team’s wealth of practical experience makes them the right people to turn to. In close coordination with the customer company, we make prototypes or deliver view samples and test samples.
We test the process technology and the necessary welded joints in advance, so you can be confident that your component is suitable for series production.
Of course we also generate the necessary production documents, for example welding procedure specifications (WPS) and production and testing specifications.

Examples:

high-strength aluminium material for aircraft construction.

108 components, 1,296 weld seams with a total combined length of about 1.5 kilometres—here you see hollow profiles made of high-strength aluminium material for aircraft construction. RIFTEC thoroughly optimised the needed production processes, characterized the joints, generated the preliminary welding specification, including the test report, and produced a prototype series.
