A look behind the scenes: RIFTEC´s opening party

About a hundred guests followed our invitation on April 12th and joined us in celebrating our opening party at our new site at Mercatorstraße in Geesthacht. Thanks to everyone who was there and made this day so memorable. Here is a small review for you and for those who unfortunately could not be with us:

The day before the party, the countdown already began: furniture was moved, exhibits were shifted and a place for the coffee bar - an Italian Ape – had to be found. And in fact: the coffee bar only barely fit into our foyer. In the production hall everything that was not nailed down was put aside at the same time, so that the visitors could safely walk through the hall. On Friday everything started early, the caterer opened the buffet, the band looked for their place between the bar tables and began to play. By ten o'clock everything was ready - and the first guests arrived. We were very pleased to welcome customers, suppliers and long-term companions. To our surprise many of them brought some gifts – for which we want to thank you again so much!

Our special thanks also go to Rob van Gils (CEO of the HAI Group), Olaf Schulze (Mayor of the City of Geesthacht) and Dr.-Ing. Rainer Döhl-Oelze (Managing Director of GITZ). They made an excellent start into this day with their witty and personal speeches.

After the official welcome we offered guided tours through the production hall and showed our visitors how we do friction stir welding at RIFTEC and what else we are capable of. From aluminum-steel joints via automotive series applications to virtually non-weldable flat material panels - many interesting components where shown. Certainly, our automated production cell for friction stir welding was a real "eyecatcher". It is unique in Germany and due to its high utilization so far it just now gets a twin set aside.

After the official part, we spent the rest of the day together with our families. A bouncy castle and a giant table football completed the fun.
